TimberSIL is a Non-Leaching Product

Sodium Silicate, otherwise known as waterglass, is a versatile, inorganic chemical made by combining various ratios of sand and sodium carbonate at high temperature.

The chemistry and process that TimberSIL® uses to produce its products has been put through thousands of rigorous tests that validate and quantify our claims. The TimberSIL process and protocols validated by an independent lab using the following protocol.

Method:
Samples of wood produced by the TimberSIL® formulation and process, along with unmodified control samples were submitted for third party laboratory analysis. to determine the amount of silicate in the TimberSIL® samples expressed as a ratio of soluble silicate (remaining unconverted) to total silicate in the samples.

The samples were analyzed for total silicate and for water soluble silicate, expressed as µg/g (ppm) sodium silicate (Na 2Si 3O 7).

Results and conclusion:
The ratio of soluble silicate to total silicate in the TimberSIL® Glass Wood samples was determined to be 1:4890, a 99.98% conversion from soluble to TimberSIL® Glass Wood samples
